“Daily Bread”

Series: “Pray Like Jesus” (Part 4 of 7)

(super amazing message this weekend at church, you can watch it later this week at

[9] “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, [10] your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. [11] Give us today our daily bread.”  -Matthew 6:9-11 (p. 678)

How to Replace Worry with Daily Bread…

1. Asking God to Supply                                          .

“…You do not have because you do not ask God!”  -James 4:2 (p. 848)

Worry kills our joy, God’s daily bread kills our worry.
If you have daily beard from Gdo, you have all that you need.

Philippians 4:6-7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.”  -John 16:24 (p. 753)

Don’t worry, just stop and pray.

Dont worry be happy is not faith, it is simply denial.

Turn your worry around, out of your heart and into a prayer.

At the heart of prayer is trust.

2. Remember   God’s resources                          .

“My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:19 (p. 820)

[28] “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. [29] Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. [30] If  that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and  tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you  of little faith? [31] So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ [32] For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. [33] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”  -Matthew 6:28-33 (p. 679)

Worry is an insult to God. Just trust Him. Worry is telling Him that you dont think He has what it takes.

“He  who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he  not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” -Romans 8:32 (p. 787)

3. Trust   God’s timing  .

God’s no is better than our yes.

“Give us today our daily bread.”  -Matthew 6:11 (p. 678)

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” -Matthew 6:34 (p. 679)

Worry is an attempy to control…… playing God…… The very act of praying is saying “I am not God”

“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.”  -Psalms 68:19 (p. 401)

God is not obligated to meet the needs of those that do not want to do His will.

“If  you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your  children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to  those who ask him!” -Matthew 7:11 (p. 679)

Dont worry doesnt mean dont work. God gave the Isrealites manna but they had to go and get it and prepare it. They had to work but God provided.

Anxiety is not maturity

Lack of joy = too much worry.

All that being said, how do I not worry?

I don’t worry about anything except the thought of losing another baby. I am not one to worry and stress over things. I am typically such a carefree person. When it comes to being pregnant again and losing another piece of my heart, it about kills me……just the thought. I can’t wrap my head around it. Maybe I am not trust God? I thought I was. I don’t know how I get around the worry, fear and anxiety in this situation. I don’t fear much, I know God always carrys me through but if I ever have to bury another baby I just might die.
